HOMEOWNER GUIDE / 01

A clear process.
From the first conversation.

Knowing what comes next makes a renovation easier to navigate. Here’s how we approach the work together.

1. Start with your priorities.

Tell us what you want to improve, what isn’t working now and how you want the space to feel. Your town, preferred timing and a realistic budget range help us discuss the right starting point.

2. Look at the home, not just the idea.

Existing conditions matter. Access, structure, moisture, old materials and connections to the rest of the house can change the work involved. We discuss what can be assessed now and what may only become visible once work begins.

3. Put the scope in writing.

A useful estimate explains the work, materials, allowances and exclusions. Compare what is included—not just the bottom number. Ask about preparation, demolition, disposal, protection, trade coordination and the finish level.

4. Make the key selections.

Choose the materials and fixtures that affect ordering and installation. Cabinets, windows, doors, tile and specialty items can influence the sequence. We discuss selections early so the project has a clearer path forward.

5. Keep communication open.

Talk through access, work areas, household routines and the best way to stay in touch. Questions are welcome. If an unexpected condition or requested change affects the scope, we discuss the options, price and timing before proceeding with added work.

6. Walk through the finished work.

Review the agreed scope together, discuss remaining details and ask about care for the new materials. The final walkthrough is the time to make sure everyone understands the completed work and any follow-up items.
